There is a song that has hit the airwaves in Kenya the past week and is apparently sending shock waves globally if you are keen enough on IG.

Here are the lyrics with English translation.

Verse 1: Bien-Aimé]
Oh, Suzanna, I hope you’re happy now
I see you flexing on the gram (Instagram) with your sponsor (sugar daddy)
Suzanna, I hope you’re happy now
I see you change your skin color
And your hair is longer now

[Pre-Chorus: Bien-Aimé]
Nakuona Paris (I see you in Paris)
Hapo kando ya Champs-Élysées (Standing beside Champs’Elysees)
Ukitesa na kamini, ye-ye-ye-ye-ye (looking dashing in your mini skirt)
None of my business
And I see you in London
Silicon (implants) on your bum-bum
Shaking what your doctor gave ya
On your worst behavior

[Chorus: Bien-Aimé and Savara]
Suzanna bhane
Senje, hallo hallo hallo (My dear, Hallo hallo hallo)
If you get to hear this song, somebody loves you
Suzanna bhane (Suzanna, sigh!)
Senje, hallo hallo hallo (My dear, Hallo hallo hallo)
Change your mind and come back home
Somebody loves you
(Hmm, Suzanna
Na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na)

[Verse 2: Savara]
Mwanamke tabia (A woman is defined by her character)
Shepu ni majaliwa (A nice figure is fleeting blessing)
Ila wengi walinyimwa tabia (many were denied a good character)
Na shepu kabarikiwa (yet blessed with a fleeting figure)
Mwanaume hisia (A man is his heart)
Pesa ni majaliwa (Money is a fleeting blessing)
Ila wengi walinyimwa hisia (Many men do not have a heart)
Na pesa kabarikiwa (yet blessed with money)

[Pre-Chorus: Savara]
Nakuona Brazil (I see you in Brazil)
Hapo Rio de Janeiro, eh (In Rio)
Ukiongezewa nywele, Senje (with your fake hair, my dear)
None of my business
And I see you in China
With the latest designer
Shaking what your doctor gave ya
On your worst behavior

[Chorus: Savara and Bien-Aimé]
Suzanna bhane
Senje, hallo hallo hallo (Hallo, hallo)
If you get to hear this song, somebody loves you
Suzanna bhane
Senje, hallo hallo hallo (Hallo)
Change your mind and come back home
Somebody loves you

[Verse 3: Chimano]
Ai senje, nakosa usingizi, usiku kucha mi naduwaa (Oh My dear, I lack sleep because I have been thinking about you the whole night through)
Ai senje, akilini, moyoni, bado we wanizuzua (Oh my dear, you are still troubling my mind & heart)
When are you coming home, senje?
Tell me, are you on your way?
Tufe tukipendana ki-Romeo na Julia (Let’s die loving each other like Romeo & Juliet)

[Outro: Chimano, Bien-Aimé and Savara]
Ai senje bhane (Oh my dear, sigh!)
Senje, hallo hallo hallo (Hallo hallo hallo)
If you get to hear this song, somebody loves you (Senje come home, oh)
Senje, hallo hallo hallo
Change your mind and come back home
Somebody loves you

The timing of the release of this song is perfect because Valentine’s Day was 2 days ago and we know of many similar stories.

You are loved, either way.

Some of us have found our Romeos & Juliets. Others are sugar daddies &, equally, sugar mummies. Others are on the receiving end of their sugar persons. Others are unsure of their relationships. Others are moving forward to the next level in their relationships. Others are ending their relationships. Others are working on the drawing boards of their current/next relationship. Others are just gliding on the waves as they come. Others have vowed never ever again.

Come unto me, all ye that labor & are heavy laden, and I will give you rest…..

Sadly, we all are Suzanna in God’s eyes. You see, the real-life gram are the standards that we have set up for ourselves outside of the Word of God. We judge ourselves and others based on eye value and not the heart value. Who is your sponsor? The one you work so hard to impress.

God sees you scaling the heights of what we have already defined as success but He won’t interfere because He is not invited.

God has been a faithful bystander as you have gone through all that. He stands there with His arms wide open wanting to show you unconditional love but you have ignored Him continuously.

God sees the fleeting yet inconsequential material things that you so highly value and is reminding you that you are focusing on the wrong things. Vanity.

God is still saying to us that He still loves us and is still calling out to us to receive His love……if we can just acknowledge Him and really abide by His standards which are not based on matters of this earth ie the gram, Paris, Brazil & Silicon implants.

To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness, that they be might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that He might be glorified.

Be the judge of what the gram, Paris, Brazil & Silicon implants are in your life and hand them over to God so that He can help you to redefine them. That is the divine exchange of beauty for ashes in Isaiah 61:3.

Matthew 11:28, Luke 6:47-8, Revelation 22:17, Romans 6:1-3.
