No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it. 1 Corinthians 10:13

Chaos is not of God. Chaos is not the nature of God. Chaos does not surprise God. But God is greater than Chaos. God will handle chaos. Out of chaos, God raised Joseph, Esther, Moses and many others.

Chaos is also a very tempting time to be disobedient, to give up, give in, lose friends, find new ones, advance or become retrogressive.

Chaos causes everything and every person to do the following; go back to factory settings or reset for adaptation to the situation.

Factory settings is going back to the Maker. Reset for adaptation simply means taking it to a higher level of ‘self-ishness’ i.e. I will do all necessary to survive even if it means feigning to be a good neighbour so that I get what I need.

But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD. Joshua 24:15

The beauty about whichever choice you will make is that you will discover new things about either setting that you previously ignored or thought non-existent. The bigger question is that which one will stand the test of time?

My response will be in the form of 2 examples. First, look at the dinosaurs as we are told by the science of men. In a bid to adapt to the changing environment, they grew bigger, consumed their environment and eventually became extinct. Secondly, look at the ark that Noah built when he went to his factory settings. Yes, he was mocked and thought mad before the flood came. Then the flood actually came. The more the waters rose, the more the ark went higher and higher till everyone around them was consumed by the waters except all the inhabitants of the ark.

Default settings saved the day. It stood he test of time. Don’t wait till it is too late.

The Master is calling.

As has just been said: “Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion.” Hebrews 3:15

Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me. Revelations 3:20

If you are reading this and need to go back to default settings, please say this prayer and look for a Bible-believing church or pastor in your neighbourhood and tell them that you have dedicated your life to the Master or rededicated your walk with the Master today;

Master, I have heard you calling through the chaos of today. I am here responding to your voice. The world views this time as a chaotic time but You have already said peace, be still. I stand in the stillness of your still small voice. I acknowledge that You are my peace, strength, provider, healer and God at this time and always henceforth. I repent of all my wrongdoings both by commission and omission. I surrender my life, being and purpose to You that You may reset me to the default mode that You created me for. I am here ready to serve You, walk in Your ways and serve fellow mankind as You direct me. I now understand that I am nothing without You. I acknowledge Your power and strength. Most of all, fill me with Your Spirit so that I may operate in your power, love and sound mind. I am Yours and You are mine. Nothing more and nothing less. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.
