Quick Sand

Anything built on an individual, other than Christ, is sinking sand! It doesn’t matter how influential or powerful or resourceful or charismatic, they may appear to be. That, is only a temporary state that can be shaken from their roots anytime. The elect of God build their houses differently, by daily obedience, service, overcoming, Bible study, and prayer. Times are tough indeed, there is no pretending about it. Many people may be tempted to look for anything upon which to stand. It doesn’t matter how solid our bank statements appear. Life is not merely built on statements of accounts. Human nature tends to choose what looks easy on the surface. Whatever our persuasion, there is no rock like the Solid Rock of All Ages. It is futile to base our hopes and trust on sinking sand that is man. It is even more futile to place our hopes on elusive tribal unity that is only beneficial to self-seeking individuals, specifically, our politicians. It is better to believe a teacher whose pedagogy is based on institutional approval than a politician whose short-lived legitimacy is a paradox of a stolen ballot. The former teach, the later, cheat!

The ground of man-made doctrine is sinking sand [Matthew 15:8-9].

The ground of self-prescribed, will worship is sinking sand [Colossians 2:23].

The ground of justifying decisions with “I think, I feel, I believe” instead of “The Bible says” is sinking sand [Colossians 3:17].

The ground of “everybody else is doing it” is sinking sand [Romans 12:2].

The ground of trusting in the riches of this world is sinking sand [Matthew 13:22].

The ground of enjoying the pleasures of sin is sinking sand [Hebrews 11:25]..

The ground of doing whatever it takes to please others is sinking sand [1 Thessalonians 2:4; Gal. 1:10].

Christ is the only Solid Rock upon which the church has been founded. No human can take His place as the “chief cornerstone” of the church [Ephesians 2:20; 1 Peter 2:6], for, “no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ” [1 Corinthians 3:11].

Shalom! Shalom!

In Christ’s service,
